Medical Emergency Instructions
If you believe you ARE experiencing
a medical emergency OR MIGHT BE experiencing
a medical emergency, it is important
to
do the following:
- Stay calm and immediately Call
911.
Explain
your problem and ask that they take you to the nearest emergency
room capable of treating the possible
problem.
Do
NOT drive yourself. Do
not have a friend drive you, unless
you cannot get an ambulance to take you. Emergency
medical technicians can start treating you as soon as they
arrive
at your location and are trained to handle emergencies while
in transit.
- Have a relative, friend, or the hospital emergency
department contact us as soon as they can.
Do
NOT call us first. Seconds
count, so call 911 first.

Are you prepared for a cardiac emergency?
Here are some things you can do to assure that in the event
of a heart related emergency you will be better prepared.
- Download
our patient emergency medical information form, fill
it out and keep it with you at all times. Give it to emergency
medical
personnel as soon as possible. It will provide them
information
about your
health
history,
medications
you
are taking and who to contact.
- If you have been prescribed Nitroglycerin
to take for chest pains, make sure the medication with you
has not expired,
that it
is stored properly and is readily available in case
of an emergency.
- Make sure that you keep your insurance card,
and the phone numbers of your physicians with you.
