Subspecialty Skills and Interests in advanced therapies for congestive heart
failure and cardiomyopathies with the use and management of intravenous inotropes,
new and novel medications, biventricular pacing, implanted ventricular assist
devices, LVAD, BIVAD, artificial hearts, primary and secondary pulmonary hypertension
diagnosis and treatment.
Principal investigator on many research and drug protocols.
Cardiac catheterization with special skills in left and right heart angiography,
Swan Ganz catheterization, right ventricular endomyocardial biopsy, balloon angioplasty,
stent placement (drug eluting stents), atherectomy, post cardiac catheterization
closure techniques with vasoseal, angioseal, and perclose suture system to allow
early discharge usually within 2 hours.
Permanent pacemaker implantation and follow-up.
Biventricular pacemaker implantation and follow-up (resynchronization therapy
for congestive heart failure.
Cardiac transplant patient management post-op and follow-up care of immunosuppressive
therapies.
